Doctors

DR SATPAL SINGH

MB ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG.

Dr Singh is now Senior Partner at the surgery and works every Tuesday and Wednesday. He studied at the University of Manchester and graduated in 2005 and since then has worked over East and West Yorkshire as part of his training including Bradford, Leeds and Hull. He has played an active part in helping trainee GP’s in their supervision and assessments. Dr Singh specialises in Diabetes and completed a level 2 Diploma in 2014. He also has an interest in MSK and performs joint injections. As he has completed the DRCOG training, he has additional qualifications in women’s health.

DR RAZWAN ALI

BSc (Hons) MBChB (Hons) MRCGP DRCOG PGCE

Dr Ali is a GP Partner working every Thursday and Friday. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 2008 and also completed an intercalated degree in Pathology during his time as a medical student. He subsequently completed his foundation training in a busy teaching hospital in Manchester before proceeding to undertake his vocational training in general practice at the University of Leeds. Dr Ali has a specialist interest in medical education and has completed a postgraduate diploma in primary care medical education from the University of Leeds. He is a GP trainer alongside teaching medical students from the University of Leeds. His specialist interests include evidence-based medicine, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

DR JASPREET SAGGU

MBChB (University of Birmingham) MPharm (Aston University)

Dr Saggu is a salaried GP working every Monday and Tuesday. She started out as a pharmacist and then trained to be a Doctor, so has a wealth of expertise to be able to help our patients. Dr Saggu qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2012, and completed her General Practice training as part of the Pennine Training Scheme working in both Kirklees and Calderdale. Dr Saggu can speak Punjabi and specialises in Minor Surgery. She is also Prescribing Lead for Tolson Primary Care Network.

 

Nurses

EMMA OXBERRY

Nurse Emma works part time at our practice some Fridays and at another local sugery. We are delighted to have her experience and skills for our patients. She is qualified to provide long term condition reviews, immunisations and vaccinations, cervical cytology testing, blood and urine testing as well as ECGs, travel advice, and health promotion advice.

BECKY HORNER

Nurse Becky works at the practice on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She is a very experienced Nurse, qualified to provide long term condition reviews, immunisations and vaccinations, cervical cytology testing, blood and urine testing as well as ECGs, travel advice, health promotion advice, and can also prescribe medications.

Healthcare Assistants

HELEN ECCLESBY

Helen is our part-time Healthcare Assistant working 5 days a week. She is experienced in performing a wide range of diagnostic checks as well as wound care, taking blood samples, giving adult injections, and providing health promotion advice and information. She has been with the practice since 2007.

Practice Management

SALLY OLDBURY

MIGPM

The Practice Manager is responsible for the administrative side of the Practice. If you have a concern, a complaint, or a non-medical problem, please ask to see her and she will be happy to help. Sally has been with the Practice since 2007 and has managed us through many changes and improvements over that time. She is also a Dignity Champion, First Aider and Mental Health First Aider. Sally is Communications Lead for our Primary Care Network (Tolson PCN) supporting the patient engagement for Network, as well as a Quality Improvement Trainer. Sally was one of the first 5 Practice Managers in the UK accredited by The Institute of Practice Management.

Reception

ELLA

Ella joined the practice as an apprentice in 2020 and has stayed on with us now she is fully qualified. Ella is our Digital Champion and arranges our children's immunisation invites.

VICTORIA

Victoria has been with the practice since 2003 and handles our long-term condition invitations and new registrations. You will find her very helpful and efficient and she regularly goes the extra mile for our patients.

LESLEY

Apart from her reception duties, Lesley cares for our cancer screening invites. She is our Cancer Champion and has been with the practice since 2006.

KAREN

Karen joined us in 2020 from another local practice with many years of experience in Primary Care. Karen is our Carers Champion and offers support to this patient group as well as raising awareness of issues affecting carers to the rest of our team at our practice meetings.

CALLUM

Callum is a new addition to our team and is currently training in the role as medical receptionist. Please be patient with him as he learns where we keep things and the terminology we use in the NHS!

Pharmacists

SHABAZ MAQBOOL

Shabaz is a clinical pharmacist working from the practice to help patients manage their medications. He can help you with alternatives if you have side effects, show you how to use your inhaler device, support you to reduce pain or addictive medications, and make sure your records are up to date with any information from your specialist at the hospital. Shabaz is not affiliated with, and will not direct you to, any particular pharmacy, that is your choice. Our in-house pharmacists work closely with our GPs to make sure your medication is managed and reviewed appropriately. So if you get a call from Shabaz, please be assured he is part of our team, is working under the authority of the GP Partners, and is a fully trained healthcare professional.
