Infection Control Annual Statement

EXTRA MEASURES - updated March 2022

The pandemic is not over with approx 18,000 active cases of covid19 in our area as of 7th March 2022. On an ongoing basis we have instituted extra cleaning and infection control measures including; screening all patients for symptoms before or on arrival at the practice, wiping down door handles, reception counter more regularly, and removal of the magazines and children's toys from the waiting rooms.

Our team have all had recent handwashing training and have been provided with suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) for their role and exposure levels.

Where possible we will try and conduct your appointment by telephone or video call to save you having to attend the practice, which many find convenient. This also avoids you putting yourself and others at risk. Where you need to attend the practice, please ensure you do not attend with symptoms of a cough/cold flu without discussing this with us first, wear a face-covering at all times and socially distance in our waiting rooms.

Please do not be offended if we ask you not to attend the surgery, or ask you to leave the building, this is to protect our staff, our other patients, and you! If our staff are exposed to this virus, the surgery will have to close for cleaning and the staff exposed will have to go into isolation meaning we are unable to provide the usual healthcare services to our patients.

Thank you for your understanding at this critical time.
